Through our various healthcare initiatives, we work with local partners to improve healthcare delivery to disadvantaged people in Africa.
We conduct targeted interventions such as surgical procedures, training and advocacy, often through our members, who make available their expertise free of charge. We utilise resources in the most cost-effective manner through partnerships with other charitable organisations and individuals who share our goals.
Our activities are funded mainly through annual membership dues, charitable donations and sponsorship of specific projects by donors. Despite our modest resources, however, we have been able to record some very good outcomes. The time we commit to implementing these projects is entirely on a charitable basis (i.e., free of charge). AHDT currently operates in northern Nigeria and plans to cover the whole northern Nigerian states within the next 5 years. We have so far completed projects in Maiduguri, Zaria, Gumel and Gombe. We hope to visit Minna and Misau in 2012.
